Exam Form

Mundtligt forsvar og demonstration (20 minutter) af obligatorisk projekt i løbet af kurset. Godkendelse af et mindre antal milestones på det obligatoriske projekt. Intern prøve, 7-trins-skala.

So censor and I will read your reports and assign an approximate grade. On Tuesday 14th Dec I will publish a specific task for each of you to highlight and demonstrate from your project (will appear on the examination list). Examples of tasks (depending on what you have done in you three exercises in the report, of course):

  1. Demonstrate that you can kill any Redis master in your REST Service's cluster and the SkyCave system will continue operating gracefully while the SkyCave load generator is running (target 'load' from client subproject.)
  2. Demonstrate the 'graceful degradation' you have implemented in PlayerServant if your 'WallService' is offline, while SkyCave is under load.
  3. Demonstrate side-by-side operation if you update your REST service's API and deploy a new version.
  4. Demonstrate domain metrics collection using Humio, for a SkyCave under load.
  5. Demonstrate the event-sourcing schema you have designed for your REST service.
  6. Demonstrate reduction of security vulnerabilities in your daemon/REST service image by following the recommendations of Vermeer.
  7. ... and so on...

We then meet at the exam date on Zoom - you wait in the 'waiting room', I will try to use the chat to indicate who is 'next' so you may follow if you enter the queue early.

When you enter for the exam, you have about 20 minutes to provide a short overview of the architecture/design/implementation, and the use case/user story that your demonstration is about (powerpoint or similar), and then demonstrate the requested aspect on a live system. You should use the 'share screen' facility in zoom.

Based upon report and your defense, a grade will be given that is an overall assessment of both report and oral defense, and of course some advice and comments.

Exam Plan

Find your date and time on the exam BS page 'Welcome to MSDO / Exam Plan'. Be sure to be 'in waiting room' some time before your actual exam slot, to ensure that the 'exam pipeline' is full. If you want to swap dates, then please mail me. However, I do prefer that groups are on the same date and after each other...
